“Genius, hilarious, must-have” in the Oklahoma Gazette

The wise Rod Lott over at the Oklahoma Gazette reviews the book. I have to say, I completely agree with most of what he says — especially these parts: “Genius” and “hilarious.” But he did misunderstand the recipes chapter. The food actually is delicious (as in not “gastronomically displeasing” — especially the French Toast and the cheesecake recipes)!

Found humor is among the funniest kind of humor, and “Milk Eggs Vodka” is a must-have, sharp-looking collection of this type.

I didn’t misunderstand it — just didn’t clarify well. I meant gastronomically displeasing to me. I hope you enjoyed your cheesecake, but it still looked gross to my eyes. The photos reminded me of that book with all the horrific recipe cards from yesteryear.

    Awesome book. Yours, that is.

The original photos are very beautiful. Uncoated paper is, shall we say, “unkind” to food photography. Of course, there are only five food photos and about 200 grocery lists, so we wanted to make sure those lists looked good. So the uncoated paper stock was chosen to make the full-color book affordable. Anyway, thanks for the review and clarification, Rod! Glad you liked the book!
